Update from Isaac in Kapchorwa
Hello Sponsors,
Here is the latest update from Isaac, our fantastic and wonderful administrator of Hope Africa in Kapchorwa. I am hoping to receive regular updates from him about what is going on with the school and the children so you can stay more connected.
Thanks for the continued support!
Kelly
"The lower primary school children completed their first term exams today. The teachers will have 4 days of marking and filling reports. The children will officially close on 20th of April for first term holidays. The upper primary will complete on Monday next week.
The P7 pupils registered for final Primary Leaving Examinations at the end of the year today with Uganda national Examination Board. The registration exercise was smooth."

Tis the Season.....
As the fall colors start to change and the evening air turns crisp, my thoughts turn towards thinking about the holidays and the upcoming Christmas celebration for the children in Kapchorwa.
We are now collecting donations for this event that has become so special for the children, so please consider making a contribution of any amount by check or online. We will be taking donations until November 1st.
Happy Autumn!

John is home! Latest update on Kapchorwa has arrived...
It was great to meet with John Hornbeck this week and hear his encouraging update of how things are going in Kapchorwa. He said Testimony School is looking better than ever, as they have planted gardens around the school grounds and are actually harvesting fresh vegetables to add to the daily meal for the children and staff. They are in the process of re-painting the building while the children are out on holidays for the next few weeks. They have also put some stone work around the grounds of the school to avoid all the red dirt becoming mud during the rainy seasons and being tracked into the school and classrooms. You can imagine having over 400 pairs of little feet and hands covered in red dirt all over the floors and walls of the school!
Because of all the recent rain, things look lush and the coffee plants are hanging heavy with beautiful coffee cherries. He was able to spend part of a Saturday with the children at their "Saturday School Program" where he listened to lots of great singing and teaching and also attended a soccer match of our children from Testimony VS children from another local school. He said the children looked great, were healthy and happy!
